Broccoli - January 20th, 2024

This survey was of a broccoli field. The DJI Mavic 3T Enterprise drone carried the Survey3W RGN and Survey3W OCN cameras using our DJI Mavic 3 MAPIR Survey3 - Dual 2 Camera Mount, along with the DAQ-A-SD light sensor (spectrometer) and covered the 80 acre field in one battery. Photos of our Diffuse Reflectance Standard Calibration Target Package (T3-R125) were captured just before the flight. The DAQ light sensor was started along with the cameras and logged any light changes. The RAW+JPG Survey3 images and DAQ log were converted and calibrated in our MAPIR Camera Control (MCC, desktop software), and the orthomosaic was produced in Pix4Dmapper.

The broccoli is planted such that the left (west) side is the new smaller plants, middle section is medium size, and the right (east) side is larger mature plants. From 400ft (120m) altitude, using wider angle lenses (M3T RGB, Survey3W) makes capturing the reflectance of the smallest plants more difficult. To better capture smaller objects, use our narrower Survey3N and fly lower.
