DJI Matrice 4
MAPIR Survey3
Dual 2 Camera Mount

This drone vehicle camera mount allows you to easily attach multiple Survey3 cameras securely to a DJI Matrice 4E/4T drone while keeping the original drone camera installed (and unobstructed). The cameras are mounted close to the drone's center of gravity and are clear of the propellers when correctly installed. Both cameras can be easily rotated and hold their position when released. There is no electrical or signal connection between the drone and the cameras.

The below DJI Matrice 4 models are supported:

  • Matrice 4E
  • Matrice 4T

The top Enterprise PSDK (E) port is not usable with this camera mount attached, as the DAQ-A-SD mount covers it. There is still the bottom e-port available if needed.

A velcro strap securely attaches the mount to the vehicle, and allows you to attach up to 2 Survey3 cameras. No tools are required to install and remove this mount. Quickly remove our mount from the vehicle by undoing the velcro strap and undoing the DAQ-A-SD cables going to the cameras. You do not need to remove the cameras or DAQ-A-SD mount, you can leave it all assembled and attached. The DAQ-A-SD mount does need to be removed in order to slide the DAQ-A-SD on/off.

This mount allows you to rotate the cameras 360 degrees to orient them parallel with the ground while flying forward. There are notches on the mount every 10 degrees of rotation. A typical tilt angle is 15 degrees when surveying at 8 m/s, so between the 1st and 2nd notch.

The original camera is unobstructed and all of the drone's obstacle avoidance sensors can remain enabled.

For this Dual 2 Camera Mount Setup Your Purchase Includes the Following:

(1) DJI Matrice 4 Camera Mount - Drone Saddle Kit

(2) DJI Matrice 4 Camera Mount - Survey3 Camera Kit

(1) DJI Matrice 4 DAQ-A-SD & Advanced V2 GNSS Mount

You will need to supply the Survey3 cameras, DAQ-A-SD light sensor (or Advanced V2 GNSS receiver), and camera DAQ cable(s) to use this mount. Cameras, GNSS, DAQ and cables are not included.

*Please note that we only recommend using the DAQ-A-SD or Advanced V2 GPS receiver  with this mount. The Standard GPS receiver may still work, but it is not as ideal as the Advanced V2 GNSS or DAQ-A.

*Please note that the DJI protective cover for the Matrice 4 cameras is compatible with our DJI Matrice 4 mount.

Weight (no cameras, no DAQ-A-SD/GPS): 60g

Weight (with 2 cameras, with DAQ-A-SD): 280g

Weight (with 2 cameras, with DAQ-A-SD, with 2 S3 lens protector): 300g (Recommended Configuration)

MAPIR, Inc is in no way liable for any damage caused to or by your drone. We have thoroughly tested this mount and when installed properly will not interfere with the normal operation of the drone.

Install Instructions:

Step 1: Place the o-ring into the groove on the camera frame:

Step 2: Insert the bolt into the camera frame as shown:

Step 3: Thread the bolt into the nut that is in the saddle. Tighten using the included allen key:

Step 4: Install the camera(s) (with internal battery) by sliding it into the camera frame. Use the included black plastic camera bolt in the camera's tripod mounting hole to secure camera to mount.

Step 5: Connect the cables to the cameras. Then route / zig-zag the cable through the camera frame tabs.

Step 5: Install the DAQ-A-SD into the DAQ holder and screw it on (screwdriver not included):

Step 6: Slip the saddle around the drone. Insert the velcro strap as shown. Make sure it's orientated with the bottom cut-out notch as shown below:

Step 7: Feed the camera cables under the velcro strap. Connect the cables to the DAQ-A-SD rear ports. Secure the top velcro strap tightly. Try and slide the mount around and retighten the velcro strap until it barely moves.

Step 8: This mount can carry up to two Survey3 cameras, with one camera flipped over. The mount has notches representing 10 degrees of rotation per notch. Rotate the cameras such that when the drone is flying forward the camera is as parallel with the ground as possible (adjust angle based on expected flight speed tilt). A flight speed of 8 m/s would require about a 15 degree tilt. 15 degrees would be between the 1st and 2nd notches as shown below:

Your mount is now ready to use.

We recommend using lens protectors on the Survey3 cameras to protect the lenses from debris during take-off and landing. You can also look into purchasing leg extenders to raise the height of the drone (not available from MAPIR).

Happy flying!
