Onion Field (400ft) - March 26th, 2018

This survey was of an onion field during its vegetative growth stage, with a good dense canopy already. Harvest will be in June. There are a few noticeable rows where the planter had not functioned correctly.

The DJI Mavic Pro carried the camera during the flight using our Mavic Camera Mount, and covered the 140 acre survey in three batteries. A photo of our Calibration Ground Target captured just before each flight was used in our free MAPIR Camera Control (MCC) software to calibrate the image prior to stitching into an orthomosaic on Drone Deploy.

This flight follows our recommended survey overlap of at least 70% front-lap and 70% side-lap and a maximum 5mph (8kmh) speed for every 65ft (20m) of altitude (AGL) for RAW+JPG mode, and a maximum 10mph (16kmh) speed for every 65ft (20m) of altitude (AGL) for JPG only mode.
