Vineyard Grapes (400ft) - May 1, 2016
This survey was of a vineyard containing various grape varieties here in San Diego, CA USA. The 3DR SOLO with 4 cameras per flight was able to cover nearly 100 acres in one battery from 400ft AGL. The images below start with the results using the recommended RAW image capture mode, followed by the compressed JPG only mode. While the results are similar the resulting index (NDVI) values for the RAW images (converted to TIFF using our MAPIR Fiji plugin) are more accurate.
This flight follows our recommended survey overlap of at least 70% front-lap and 70% side-lap and a maximum 5mph (8kmh) speed for every 65ft (20m) of altitude (AGL) for RAW+JPG mode, and a maximum 10mph (16kmh) speed for every 65ft (20m) of altitude (AGL) for JPG only mode.
