Oats Field (370ft) - March 31st, 2018

This survey was of an oats field about a week before harvest. The field had been flown in previous months with a RGB color camera.  The soil map from January shows the varying colored regions characterizing the different sandy washes in the region prior to being planted. Like much of the new farm land in the Imperial Valley the land in this location was originally desert. The DJI Mavic Pro carried the camera during the flight using our Mavic Camera Mount, and covered the 70 acre survey in one battery. A photo of our Calibration Ground Target was captured just before each flight and the software used to calibrate and stitch into an orthomosaic was our MAPIR Cloud.

This flight follows our recommended survey overlap of at least 70% front-lap and 70% side-lap and a maximum 5mph (8kmh) speed for every 65ft (20m) of altitude (AGL) for RAW+JPG mode, and a maximum 10mph (16kmh) speed for every 65ft (20m) of altitude (AGL) for JPG only mode.
